Tenebrae means darkness. In this most somber of worship services, we remember the crucifixion and death of Christ through scripture readings, music, and the extinguishing of candles one by one until the service ends in darkness. We leave this service to contemplate the meaning of Jesus death, and to anticipate the joy ...of Easter and the celebration of his resurrection.
Nursery available ages 0-3. Come early to pray through the Stations of the Cross in Wesley Hall, open up until this service begins.

An interactive prayer experience that will take you through the last steps of Jesus in his journey to the cross. Take your time, moving through the stations at your own pace. Kneel in the garden of his betrayal; touch the thorns, hold the nails, feel the weight of the cross he carried. The Stations of the Cross is a li...fe-changing way to discover the true meaning of Easter.
Note: this experience may not be suitable for small children, but it is an excellent way to introduce older children and young people to the meaning of Easter. Open Wednesday Mar. 31 from 5-7 p.m.; Thursday Apr. 1 from 8-6, and Friday Apr. 2 from 8-7.
